Serena Lake writes historical romances set in 18th and 19th century England.

Her writing debut was with the publication of two pieces of short fiction in the One Word Anthology e-book published by Alfie Dog Fiction, in 2012, and the anthology went on to become available as a paperback on Amazon.

Serena claims her love of historical romances came from watching Hollywood costume dramas shown in the afternoon on weekend television as she was growing up. The big dresses were the main attraction, and that remains true nowadays with her interest in historic costume.

She enjoys reading romances, both contemporary and historical. Among her favourite authors are Jo Beverley, Stephanie Laurens, Jane Ann Krentz/Amanda Quick, and Nora Roberts.

Serena Lake is the historical romance pseudonym of writer Carol Bevitt. Carol blogs on her writing and research, along with occasional competition and literature related news, you can read her blog here.
